Oak
The native oak of the British Isles, often known as English Oak,
has a combination of grain, colour and character which is unique
and inimitable. The Wooden Kitchen uses the full range of naturally
occurring features in the timber to produce furniture which is distinctive
and truly individual, particularly when produced in the Cottage
and Chart pattern doors in a rural or rustic setting. With the Square
and bevel framed doors we can select a clearer grade of Oak with
fewer natural features, to produce a cleaner, stylish, more contemporary
look, often finished with oil rather than hand waxed.
As with all Wooden Kitchen furniture the basic carcase is constructed
from solid pine but where glazed or open shelf units are used the
entire cabinet is constructed from solid English Oak. |
